1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using NutriScan ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

NutriScan provides AI-powered food image classification and nutritional analysis. The Service identifies food from uploaded images and provides estimated nutrition data based on USDA FoodData Central values.

Important: NutriScan provides nutritional estimates for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional dietary advice, medical diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for dietary decisions.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • One account per person; do not share accounts
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

4. Tokens and Payments

  • Free tier: New accounts receive 10 complimentary scan tokens
  • Purchased tokens: Token packs are one-time purchases and do not expire
  • Pro subscription: Monthly/yearly subscription providing unlimited scans and premium features
  • All purchases are processed by Stripe (web), Apple (iOS), Google (Android), or Huawei (AppGallery)
  • Refunds are handled according to each payment processor's refund policy
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that is obscene, harmful, or violates third-party rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer the AI model or classification system
  • Abuse the API or overwhelm the Service with excessive automated requests
  • Create multiple free accounts to circumvent token limits
  • Resell or redistribute NutriScan data without permission

6. Intellectual Property

The NutriScan brand, AI models, nutrition database, website design, and software are owned by NutriScan. You retain ownership of images you upload. By uploading images, you grant us a limited license to process them for classification purposes only.

7. Accuracy Disclaimer

Food classification and nutrition estimates are provided by AI and may contain errors. Accuracy depends on image quality, lighting, food presentation, and portion size. NutriScan does not guarantee 100% accuracy and should not be relied upon for medical dietary requirements or allergy management.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NutriScan is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to health decisions made based on our nutritional data.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these terms. Upon termination, unused purchased tokens are forfeited.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
